MMS in conjunction with its partners Ingeniera de Minerales S.A (IDM) is pleased to announce the delivery of its largest Imhoflot flotation plant to date to a large Chilean based copper and molybdenum producer.
The plant receives a bulk flotation concentrate from a tailings stream at a grade of 0.4-0.5% Cu and upgrades this to a final concentrate of 26% Cu. The capacity of the Imhoflot flotation plant is approximately 600 m³/h.
MMS’s scope of supply was for the entire plant consisting of the following:
- 2 x Imhoflot V45 rougher cells
- 2 x Imhoflot V45 rougher scavenger cells
- 2 x Imhoflot V25 cleaner cells
- 2 x Imhoflot V25 cleaner scavenger cells
- 2 x Imhoflot G18 2nd cleaner cells
- 1 x Imhoflot G18 2nd cleaner scavenger
Commissioning is currently in progress with initial results already meeting design targets.
MMS’s General Manager Steve Flatman commented “this sale follows on from extensive pilot plant testwork showing the benefits of Imhoflot pneumatic flotation over conventional tank flotation and further strengthens our market share in Chile where our flotation technologies are already well known. Accepting this, over the last year there has been a significant uptake in customer interest with piloting currently underway at several large copper/molybdenum producers in Chile and advanced contract negotiations taking place.”
