Graduate of the University of Wales, UK (Mineral Processing) and Swinburne University, Melbourne Australia (Innovation & Enterprise) with many years' experience in remote site operations with Anglo American, De Beers, Robertson Research and Billiton Australia. Subsequently responsible for equipment sales management with KHD Humboldt Wedag AG, Germany. Specialises in new product and business development. Chartered Engineer, Member of IMM (London), AusIMM and SME.

PhD graduate from University of Clausthal, Germany (Mineral Processing) with over 30 years design, R&D and management experience in coal and non-ferrous process industries. Specialised in pneumatic flotation, jigging, electrowinning and aeration technologies. Holds a number of patents in the above. Chairman of GDMB (German mining association) flotation technical committee.

Peter Sullivan

Peter has a BSc in Mining Engineering from Nottingham University and an MSc from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is the principal of Euromin Ltd, a Portuguese based engineering consultancy. Peter has extensive experience in coal, hard rock and alluvial mining in Africa. He spent seven years as a project manager with the South African Chamber of Mines Research. He has over fifteen years experience in diamond mining and recovery in Angola culminating in the position of General Manager – Operations for the largest diamond producer. Peter is the Operations Manager for MMS, Director of Maelgwyn Mineral Services Africa (Pty) Ltd and Director of Greenhills Technologies International Ltd.

Commercial lawyer specialising in the resources industry. Experienced as legal advisor to companies, including PLC's. Regularly consults to mining, exploration and petroleum corporations in the area of company and commercial law.

Heiner has an MSc in Process Engineering from the University of Cologne and a degree in Environmental Engineering and Water Treatment from the Technical University Braunschweig. He spent 16 years with KHD Humboldt Wedag AG in various positions covering R&D, process engineering and project management. Heiner has had positions as Head of the Engineering Department with Krupp Fordertechnik GmbH, Head of Sales and Projects with Sutco GmbH and five years as Project Manager with Burgess-Manning GmbH all dealing with process equipment.

Manager – Metallurgical Operations

Mark has a degree in Mineral Processing from Cardiff University and over 30 years experience in the mineral processing, mining and engineering industry. He has been Senior Metallurgist for Nchanga Consolidated Copper Mines in Zambia and Senior Plant Metallurgist and Production Manager for AngloGold in South Africa. Mark has been Manager of a number of engineering businesses and for 14 years ran his own auto-engineering company in Johannesburg which he sold in 2005. Following this he was employed as Assistant Head of Metallurgy and Engineering for SML in Angola, mining diamonds. Mark joined MMS in March 2008 as Manager of Metallurgical Operations.

Senior Metallurgical Engineer

Arun has a B.Sc in Mining and Minerals Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and a PhD in Mineral Processing from the University of Nottingham. His PhD Thesis was entitled "Applying Froth Imaging Techniques to Characterise the Dewatering Behaviour of Fine Coal". Arun undertook post doctoral research work at the University of Kentucky’s Centre for Applied Energy Research, USA before joining MMS. Arun is currently a member of the SME.

Andrew Molloy

Metallurgical Engineer

Andrew is employed in conjunction with Cardiff University under a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between MMS and the University. Andrew has both a BSc in Applied Geology and an MSc in Minerals Engineering from Camborne School of Mines at the University of Exeter. He has spent some time working with SGS minerals as a laboratory technician. Andrew’s KTP project is to undertake fundamental research into MMS’s gold leaching and cyanide destruction processes.

Slavik Kasins

Slavik Kasins

Administration Manager

Slavik has an MSc in Accounting from the University of Glamorgan, Wales and a Diploma in IT from Riga Technical College, Latvia. He is a certified financial accountant, part-qualified chartered accountant and a fellow member of International Association of Bookkeepers. Slavik is particularly interested in the CIS commodities market and financial fraud preventative measures. His background lies mainly in the security sector where Slavik has worked on various assignments covering asset and executive protection in and around Europe for 8 years. He maintains an active security clearance status and has a Security Industry Authority licence. Slavik is fluent in Russian, Latvian and English.
