Specialised in pneumatic flotation, jigging, electrowinning and aeration technologies. Holds a number of patents in the above. Chairman of GDMB (German mining association) flotation technical committee. |

Peter SullivanMMS DirectorPeter has a BSc in Mining Engineering from Nottingham University and an MSc from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is the principal of Euromin Ltd, a Portuguese based engineering consultancy. Peter has extensive experience in coal, hard rock and alluvial mining in Africa. He spent seven years as a project manager with the South African Chamber of Mines Research. He has over fifteen years experience in diamond mining and recovery in Angola culminating in the position of General Manager – Operations for the largest diamond producer. Peter is the Operations Manager for MMS, Director of Maelgwyn Mineral Services Africa (Pty) Ltd and Director of Greenhills Technologies International Ltd. |

Steve FlatmanGeneral ManagerSteve has a BSc in Minerals Technology from the Royal School of Mines ,Imperial College, London and over 28 years experience in minerals processing. He spent 24 years in a variety of metallurgical management positions with AngloGold Ashanti in South Africa up to the level of Metallurgical Manager. He was then seconded to Rand Refinery Ltd where he was again employed in several positions including an extended period of 9 months as acting Managing Director. He then returned to the UK in October 2008 to join a project management company Aker Solutions before joining Maelgwyn in November 2009. Steve is a registered Chartered Engineer(C Eng) in the UK and Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) in South Africa and a member of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and Mine Metallurgical Managers Association where he has served on council as a regional representative and as President. |

Heiner SprengerTechnical Sales ManagerHeiner has an MSc in Process Engineering from the University of Cologne and a degree in Environmental Engineering and Water Treatment from the Technical University Braunschweig. He spent 16 years with KHD Humboldt Wedag AG in various positions covering R&D, process engineering and project management. Heiner has had positions as Head of the Engineering Department with Krupp Fordertechnik GmbH, Head of Sales and Projects with Sutco GmbH and five years as Project Manager with Burgess-Manning GmbH all dealing with process equipment. |

Richard Mark BattersbyManager – Metallurgical OperationsMark has a degree in Mineral Processing from Cardiff University and over 30 years experience in the mineral processing, mining and engineering industry. He has been Senior Metallurgist for Nchanga Consolidated Copper Mines in Zambia and Senior Plant Metallurgist and Production Manager for AngloGold in South Africa. Mark has been Manager of a number of engineering businesses and for 14 years ran his own auto-engineering company in Johannesburg which he sold in 2005. Following this he was employed as Assistant Head of Metallurgy and Engineering for SML in Angola, mining diamonds. Mark joined MMS in March 2008 as Manager of Metallurgical Operations. |

Michael VarleyMechanical EngineerMichael is employed in conjunction with Cardiff University under a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between MMS and the University. Michael has an MEng (hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham specialising in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for product optimisation. Michael’s KTP project is to research and develop MMS’s novel ultra-fine grinding technology. |

Aleksandra BiziorBookkeeper - AdminAleksandra has a BA in Management Accounting from the University of Glamorgan, Wales. She has already partly qualified as a Chartered Accountant and is currently studying to become a Chartered Certified Accountant with ACCA. Prior to joining Maelgwyn she gained broad experience in a range of positions covering accountancy, general administration and human resource roles. Aleksandra is also a native polish speaker. |

Derryth YoungChief EngineerDerryth has worked in engineering and project management for the past 16 years. He brings to our team at Maelgwyn broad experience in engineering management and engineering design gained from working in pulp and paper, heavy and medium manufacturing and the minerals processing industry internationally. Derryth has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and an MBA from the same institution. Some positions he has held include Divisional Engineer, Operations Manager, Project Manager and Project Engineer but also ran his own business in project management and engineering consulting for several years. |
