MMS Portable Laboratory Traveller Cell Sales Growing Rapidly

(November 2011)

Maelgwyn Mineral Services (MMS) is seeing an unprecedented growth in the sales of its portable laboratory flotation cell aptly named Traveller Cell. The cell offers all of the advantages associated with much larger conventional laboratory machines and can be used for standard laboratory testwork. Indeed many sales have been solely for this purpose. However importantly, the major added advantage of the Traveller cell is that it is portable due to its small size and weight fitting neatly into a supplied carry case. It can therefore be used in offsite plant applications or other remote wherever the flotation testwork is required.
MMS’s operations manager Mark Battersby comments “I always take a Traveller cell with me when travelling overseas for plant audits. The total weight of the unit is less than 20kg and can go as standard airline baggage when in its carry case. It can be assembled and disassembled on site within a couple of minutes.”

Maelgwyn Minerals Expands Further in South America

(September 2011)

Maelgwyn Minerals international presence has taken another exciting step forwards through joining forces with Contecmina to form a new company Maelgwyn Contecmina Americas (MCAm).

Contecmina is a Brazilian minerals consulting company and a division of Contecnica one of the premier engineering companies in Brazil.

In support of the new company a new laboratory facility is being established in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) which will have facilities for testing all of Maelgwyn’s technologies including Imhoflot pneumatic flotation, Aachen assisted leaching to boost leach kinetics, Leachox and the MMS CN-D cyanide destruction process.

General Manager of MMS Steve Flatman comments “We have been experiencing a very high demand for our products/technologies in South America over and above our historical Imhoflot pneumatic flotation cells. MMS collaboration with such a high profile company in conjunction with the lab establishment will significantly upgrade our ability to support customers in this region”.

More Imhoflot G-Cells for Dorfner

(July 2011)

MMS is pleased to announce the sale of an additional two 1.8m Imhoflot G-Cells to Dorfner in Germany for their Kaolinite flotation circuit. For Feldspar rich Kaolinite mineral it is necessary to clean the concentrate in a second stage. The two new cells will be installed in series to treat the concentrate of 3 existing cells. The total throughput is approximately 90m³/hr. MMS also installed the three original 1.8m G-Cells at Dorfner in 2005 treating 120m³/hr. The G-Cells were ideal as in addition to the prime motivation of recovery benefits over conventional flotation, the cells high throughput and small footprint facilitated the installation. Commissioning of the new cells is scheduled to take place during August. MMS General Manager Mr Steve Flatman commented “ whilst sales to new customers are always important in any growing business repeat sales to existing customers are particularly rewarding as they speak for themselves “
